My dog ate an Opossum ast night and there is something wrong?

He had a opossum last night he killed it and ate some of it. M dad threw th possum over the fence. he threw some of it up this morning. I called him to wake up and he just looked at me and layed back down and he was foaming at the mouth last night. I'm scared there is something wrong with him!My dog ate an Opossum ast night and there is something wrong?
You are on the way to the vet with him, right? My dog ate an Opossum ast night and there is something wrong?
yes . maybe your dog barked at it and it started running and then your dog chased it and as you probably know if you run from a dog it will run after you.then your dog probably killed it thinking it was bad.then out of the curiosity he tasted it(which is not something i would do).because of curiosity(sort of) your dog ate raw meat which got him sick .take him to the vet immediatly and get him vaccinated or whatever and don't leave and doors open at night
rabies doesn't become symptomatic that fast. if this isn't some ';quarantine'; or ';rec'; related prank, then you need to get your dog to a vet. the opossum may have been poisoned, and maybe that was how he caught it (the poison made the opossum weak). then again, are you sure he actually killed it? if you didn't see or hear him kill it, there is a good possibility it was already dead from poison. get him to a vet ASAP.
Find the rest of the body, bag it, and get to the vet ASAP!!!!! The opossum might have been poisoned, and therefore, bringing the body could be an asset to see what is wrong with your dog

Thumbs down for saying bring the rest of the oppossum with this person? You people are ridiculous! Even if the oppossum is sick, there could be indicators in the leftovers, such as liver tissue. DUH!!!!
Alot of rodents carry diseases, take him to the vet, tell them what happened. Vaccine shots will cure him.

On the flipside, most dogs will eat rodents, and smaller animals without much effect on there body. Unless of course its a venomous snake.

Your dog might just have food poisoning, :P let him eat up some grass so he can pass the possum out of his system.

If you want a type of food, anything with Fiber. He needs to poop out the problem :)
I suggest you take him to the vet as soon as possible. It could be possible that the opossum had a type of infection that could've gotten into your dog while he ate the opossum. It is possible it could be rabies, but I am not a pro. So see a vet soon!! I really hope your dog get better!!
It does ********************NOT*****************鈥?have rabies, you idiot children!!!!!!! STOP spewing your chicken Little hysteria!!

Possum don't carry the virus,it is *NOT* spread by EATING anything %26amp; would NOT show symptoms for ten days-TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!!

It just got a belly full...including fur!!!.... %26amp; it feels like crap.
No, relax, its just not on his diet, it'll pass. Dogs are more likely to have rabies than opossums, 1 in 800 opossums will have rabies. So just wait and see what happens. If he doesn't get better, take him to the vet.
Take your dog to the vet ASAP. The opossum might have had some disease and your dog ate it. I doubt signs of rabies would show up that soon but your dog could have gotten it from that opossum. I hope this helps!
has your dog had its rabies shot?

i'd say it was unlikely that the dog has rabies so soon after the attack.

and odds are... that opossum wasn't dead........ either.

but like everyone else said, call the vet etccc.

good luck.
Go to the doctor. he might of ate a opossum with rabies! (Thus the foaming of the mouth)
your dog might have rabies ..

you better get that dog to the vet FAST!!! because possums have rabies and other diseases
Sounds like he ate some TROLL !!!
Yes - you are not feeding him enough.
Rabies!! he probably caught it from the oppossum!!!

GET HIM TO THE VET FAST
GET HIM TO A VET FAST OR HE CLOUD DIE!!!!!!
