How can I catch a Racoon/Opossum/Turky With out hurting them?

Exactly WHY do you want to capture wild animals? It is illegal to do so. If you have a wild animal in your area causing problems that are NOT human caused..you can call the proper authorities (Fish and Wildlife, animal control, etc.) to help you solve the problem humanely. Otherwise..leave wildlife alone. How can I catch a Racoon/Opossum/Turky With out hurting them?
There are specially designed animal traps which are screen boxes with a door on the end. It is open until an animal enters and pulls at bait on the opposite end of the cage. These work well with racoons and possums. Turkeys might not walk into such a trap however. If the trap manages to catch something, the safest way to handle it is to cover it with a towel. This will help to calm down the animal trapped inside. Hardware stores and lawn and garden centers are good places to try and find these traps. One model was called a ';haveaheart'; trap. Some stores specialize in feeding birds and they usually stock items such as this. How can I catch a Racoon/Opossum/Turky With out hurting them?
All small mammals can be captured safely with ';Havahart'; and similar box traps. Wild turkeys, while not stupid enough to drown in the rain, aren't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. They are, however, quite wary. Turkey biologists have had success with cannon nets, net guns, corn treated with sedatives, and large cage traps with labyrinth entrances. Just make sure you're following the law. In Arizona, you can capture a raccoon or a possum if you have a hunting license, but it's illegal to trap turkeys if you're not connected to the Game and Fish Department.
Use live cage traps. You can buy them at farmers supply stores. For raccoons and opossums you bait the traps with tuna, marshmellow, or whatever you want (they aren't picky). If you are planning on trapping and then relocating them you should look at your state's rules on relocation. Depending on the state it can be against the law because of disease transmission.
Cages can be gotten at the humane society.

Or you can call (look under Raccoon in phone bk.) they'll rent you a cage (not cheep) Put the proper food in it and good luck. PS. Turkeys are very stupid so I would guess that they are more difficult to trap. They can drown in a rain storm because they often keep their heads up and mouths open.

Hop e I've helped you out !
Possums and raccoons are fairly easy to trap with a humane trap using the right lure. However, there are regulations on releasing captured or problem wildlife so check your local regs. I've never heard of any way to catch turkeys humanely.
